Look at your body of work over the semester and choose 2 pieces that show your growth as an artist. Discuss each piece and how you grew in the following areas: application of materials, techniques and skills, artistic vision, use of the principles and elements, creativity, intuition and subject matter.
The first 2 pictures were the first drawing that I drew in art 2. I felt that my techniques and skills weren't that strong as you can tell by the hand it was pretty difficult in trying to make it look realistic. I didn't have so much skill in making the buildings in a one-perspective view. I had little of practice in the application of material I didn't know when and how to apply the material to my drawings. For the pen and Ink drawings my skills improved when adding value to make the drawing look realistic. Throughout the beginning of the semester my creativity wasn't that good. It was very difficult for me to think of ideas and ways to plan my art. As time passed by and the more I practiced it got easier and easier in planning my art. As well as my lack of artistic vision was the problem for my creativity not having an artistic vision can sometimes be hard for putting art work in the table. Which during the beginning of the semester I didn't even know what that meant. Adding texture, value and color to my artwork made a huge difference to the drawing.

Discuss one project where you felt you were the least successful. Explain why you felt this way. What would you do differently to change this piece?
The project that I felt like I was the least successful in was recreating a piece of a famous painting " The Yellow Cow" by Franz Marc. The painting didn't turn out as I had planned. In my opinion I felt like I didn't focus to well in where the items in the original painting were located. I felt this way because it was pretty difficult knowing exactly where they should be painted even though I had the painting in front of me. What I would do differently is I should of took more time in matching the colors more to the original painting also in adding the texture and shapes of the painting. I feel like I also rushed and didn't take my time and recreating it to look more like the painting. Throughout the process of recreating the painting it looked simple to recreate but I came to a point where I just wanted to give up. If I would of of avoided these little mistakes the painting would of turned out more accurate to the original painting.

Look over the portfolios of other students in our class. Choose a piece of artwork from one of your classmates that you feel is an exemplary showcase of what the project was to depict. Discuss how the artist used the medium, utilized the elements of art and design principles, was original with their ideas and went beyond their comfort zone or the realm of the requirements. Make sure you have the image of their artwork along with their name (first name only) posted with this response. Also include a link to their portfolio.
Rosa showcased the self-portrait project on a level I can't explain. I feel like she nailed every aspect of what the project was about she did a good job in blending the colors. Such as the skin and how she added so much detail to her hair and sweater. She added value around the areas that made the portrait look realistic. It shows that she colored square by square because the colors all flow and balance together it doesn't look all over the place. Her use of value, texture and shape are well applied the smallest details on her face gave a depth to looking more realistic to the original photo. She was very original in drawing the self-portrait because the way she added all those strand of hairs and the way she is posed in the photo gives it a happy vibe.
The project in painting in style of a famous artist was a huge success for Rosa she really showcased what the project depict. Her painting gave a well reflection of what the original artist would have paint. She added value to the cans and a shadow making the painting realistic.
